Levels of Child Care Subsidy – what your family may receive
Three things determine the level of CCS families will receive:
Combined family income – Family income is the combined family-adjusted taxable income. Your family income will determine the percentage of subsidy you are eligible for.
Activity level of parents – An activity test will determine the number of subsidised Kinder/child care hours that families will have access to per fortnight.
Type of child care service – The maximum hourly rate the Government will subsidise is based on the type of child care service.
Annual Subsidy Cap
For most families, there will no longer be an annual cap on the amount of subsidy you can receive. Families earning over $356,756 will receive no subsidy.
Child Care Subsidy Payments
Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is paid directly to the kinder. It is based on the attendance records that are submitted for your child. The gap between the kinder’s daily charge and the CCS will be payable by the family via direct debit. This is done after kinder funding is applied. Fees are charged fortnightly 2 weeks in advance.
